Kwara commissioner promises inclusive policy

The newly sworn-in Commissioner of Finance in Kwara, Mrs Hauwa Nuru, has assured the management and staff of the ministry that she would operate an open door policy.

She promised that all issues concerning the ministry would be treated with fairness.

This is contained in a statement issued in Ilorin on Thursday by the Press Secretary, the state Ministry of Finance, Mr Babatunde Rasheed.

According to the statement, the commissioner gave the assurance during a maiden meeting with members of staff of the ministry shortly after her assumption of duty.

Nuru admonished the workers to maintain a high level of transparency, accountability and commitment in the discharge of their duties.

 “My door is open for everybody. I will operate an open door policy. l will affect you positively and you will affect me so that there will be positive change at the end,” she said.

The commissioner further urged the staff to always give support and cooperation to the management.

She assured that the management would ensure that the ministry is run with integrity and that the welfare of staff not compromised.

Nuru noted that change and innovation is the bedrock for unlimited development of the state.

Besides, she pledged to work round the clock to achieve the mandates of the Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

The Permanent Secretary, Malam Folorunsho Abdulrasaq, congratulated the commissioner on the great task given to her by the governor, describing her appointment as well deserved.

 Abdulrasaq thanked the commissioner for her hands of friendship and pledged the unalloyed support of the staff at all times to make her succeed in her new assignment.

On his part, the state Accountant General, Mr Abdulganiyu Sani, also assured unflinching support of staff to achieve success in the ministry.
