Kolo Muani snubs Frankfurt training, seeks PSG transfer

France forward Randal Kolo Muani did not show up for Eintracht Frankfurt training on Wednesday as he appears set to force through a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.

Frankfurt said that Kolo Muani missed training unauthoritised and would as a result not be part of the squad for Thursday’s Conference League match against Levski Sofia.

“We got to know Randal differently and we know his real character. There is a lot of pressure on him at the moment and this reaction is the result, which is wrong and which we have made clear to him and his environment,” Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche said.

Kolo Muani, 24, had his breakthrough last season and played at the World Cup where France lost the final against Argentina, which created interest from big European clubs.

He told Sky TV on Tuesday he had informed Frankfurt officials he wanted to leave for Ligue 1 champions PSG in the transfer window which ends on Friday.

“A transfer to Paris is a unique opportunity for me. I would like to move to Paris and have told this to club officials,” Kolo Muani said.

“I hope and wish that Frankfurt accept the offer from Paris and make this transfer possible for me.”

Kolo Muani has reportedly agreed personal terms with PSG on a five-year contract.

Frankfurt are said to have rejected a PSG offer worth €80 million ($87 million) for Kolo Muani who has a contract until 2027 without a release clause. Frankfurt reportedly want at least €100 million.

“I owe Frankfurt a lot. The fans are dear to me and I have always acted in a professional way. I have given my all for the club but it is no secret that Paris Saint-Germain have made a record offer for me,” Kolo Muani said.

Reports suggested that the interview may have not been authorised by Frankfurt.
