Kogi State Tops In Table Tennis In The Ongoing National Youth Games, Asaba.

Kogi State has clinched her first gold medals in the mixed doubles of the table tennis event at the ongoing National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State.

Information Officer,
Kogi State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development Lokoja, the mixed doubles of Joseph Victor and Sezuo Ize defeated their Delta State mixed doubles counterpart by 3-2 to clinch the gold medal.

Speaking after the match, Joseph Victor and Sezuo Ize thanked the ministry and the coaches for their support.

The two coaches, Usman Jibril Shaku and Friday Abah,expressed joy at the victory and urged the players to keep on the never-give- up spirit.

While Congratulating the players, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Monday A Anyebe described the feat as a welcomed development.

The commissioner who was represented by the Director of Sports Development in the Ministry, Mr. David Ogazuma, assured that more medals would come the way of Kogi athletes in other sports and called for continuous improvement in their performance.
