The Executive Secretary of Kogi State Emergency Management Agency, (SEMA), has lauded the proactive steps taken by the Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, which led to the rescue of the Kidnapped students of the Confluence University of Science and Technology, (CUSTECH), hours after his visit to the Ivory tower.
The Executive Secretary, in a statement personally signed by him, said the assurance give to parents, the university management and the public serve as morale booster, reinforcing their confidence in the government’s capacity to come to their aide in this critical moment
He noted that the quick response of the Governor, boosted the morales of conventional security agents, Local vigilante men and local hunters that engaged the kidnappers in the forest where the victims are kept.
The statement
The abducted students of Confluence University of Science and Technology regain freedom from captivity hours after the Security conscious Governor , His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo visited the institution to assure the public and institution management of his commitment to rescuing the students.
The quick response of Kogi State Government boosted the morales of conventional security agents, Local vigilante men and local hunters that engaged the kidnappers in the forest where the victims are kept.
The kidnappers succumbed to firepower and had no option , leaving the kidnapped students behind.
The Security agents have taken over the forest using centrifugal force to ensure safety of all kidnapped students.
The State known to have shared boundaries with ten States had never experienced this ugly act for the past eight years and the current administration has practically demonstrated that the Security architecture policy championed by Former Governor His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello which the current Governor is consolidating upon maintained zero tolerance for criminals and criminalities in the State.
Furthermore, on the directive of His Excellency, the Executive Governor, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, the abducted students that were rescued have been taken to facility outreach for medical attention.
The SEMA Boss urged all the concerned citizens to be law abiding and assist the Government with useful and prompt information on suspicious movements in their communities that could lead to criminal activities.
