Students of Kogi State Polytechnic Staff School have emerged as the overall best in Kogi State at the 2026 National Gallery of Art Exhibition, reaffirming the school’s growing reputation for excellence in creative arts and practical education.

The exhibition, organised by the National Gallery of Art, an agency under the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, in collaboration with Glance Printing Agency Nigeria, was held at the NYSC Secretariat in Lokoja as part of activities marking the 2026 Children’s Day celebration.

The school’s secondary section outshined participants from several primary and secondary schools across Kogi State to retain the overall title for the second consecutive year.

The winning team, comprising David Moyomola, Momoh Aisha Ebigio, Adavi Gideon and Priscilla Augustine, excelled in the Textile/Fashion Design and Mixed Media categories, earning the admiration of the judges.

In an outstanding individual performance, David Moyomola, a JSS 2 student, emerged as the Overall Best Student in the secondary school category, outperforming contestants from higher classes across the state.

The students’ success was achieved under the leadership of the Chairman of the School Board, Dr. Anthony Tunde Puke, and the Principal, Mrs. Aisha O. Obansa, whose commitment to academic and creative excellence has continued to inspire outstanding performances.

The latest feat reflects the commitment of Kogi State Polytechnic to promoting technical, vocational and creative education through practical learning experiences.

The institution’s management, led by the Rector, Professor Salihu Sanusi Avidime, has consistently encouraged hands-on training and innovation, creating opportunities for students to showcase their talents in competitive national platforms.

The victory further underscores the polytechnic’s vision of nurturing creativity, entrepreneurship and practical skills among young learners, while positioning its Staff School as one of the leading centres for arts and vocational education in Kogi State.
