Kogi NUJ inaugurates 6-man press week committee

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) Kogi State Council, has inaugurated a 6-man committee to organize its 2024 Press Week, with a charge to explore every opportunity to outline programmes for the one week long event.

Inaugurating the committee at the council’s secretariat, NUJ press centre, Lokoja, the Chairman of the council, Comrade Shiedu Ademu congratulated the members and charged them to do their best to deliver on their mandate of organizing a befitting press week.

He expressed optimism that “With the caliber of persons in the committee, the task will be simple”, maintaining that the press week would feature the investiture of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, as the Grand Patron of NUJ, as well as repositioning the union for good.

While thanking Kogi State Governor , Ahmed Usman Ododo for his relentless landmark achievements within the short period in office, Comrade Ademu appealed to stakeholders, as well as kogi people to throw their support for his administration.

He advised members of the union to support the committee to enable them succeed in the task before them as it would be to the glory of God and honour to members if the event is successful.

Responding, the immediate past chairman of the council and now the Chairman of Press week committee, Comrade Adeiza Momojimoh noted that “With the composition of the committee, it is obvious that wise men and woman have been chosen for this assignment.”

Reiterating the preparedness of the committee to deliver on it’s mandate, he said “We will do all within our limit with the cooperation of all members to ensure that we have a successful press week.”

The members of the committee are; General manager, FRCN, prime FM, Comrade Adeiza Momojimoh, Secretary is Mike Abu of Federated chapel, Director, ministry of Information, Ebenezer Adurodija, Grace Ben-Kato of The Graphic newspaper, council Secretary Olusegun Oyenibi and Assistant secretary Samuel Atuluku.
