Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has promised to continue to inject resources into world bank projects that will benefit the people of the State.
Governor Ododo disclosed this on Tuesday while receiving the 500 women and youth beneficiaries in poultry value-chain credit support by Kogi State Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES).
According to him, the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project, (L- PRES) is a giant stripe in Nigeria aimed at driving towards food security and economic prosperity, noting that the programme aligns seamlessly with his administration’s short, medium, and long term plan to make Kogi State the epic center of livestock production in Nigeria.
The Governor urged all the beneficiaries to make the best of this golden opportunity to transform the livestock industry in the State, stressing that there is no better time than now to channel significant resources and commitment to food security in Kogi state.
“I want to assure the World Bank that we shall continue to inject our projects with great political will and zeal to the benefit of our great people. All beneficiaries will get the sum of 100, 000 Naira each as logistic support for their various businesses and the service provider will be immediately energized the supply of your input, depending on your selected country budget and capacity building for sustainability” the Governor stated.
In his speech the Kogi State Coordinator of L-PRES , Dr Olufemi Bolarin, said the 500 women and youth were carefully selected across the 21 local government areas to take the advantage of the project to improve their livelihoods and that of their family members.
“The project is not only about poultry, but to create self empowerment around the rural areas of the state. The L-PRES will provide all the needed items to the beneficiaries to enable them succeed” he added
