Kogi Guber: APC Youth Groups stage solidarity walk for Gov Bello, APC Candidate

No fewer that 5000 youth from various political groups in Kogi state on Weekend, throng the major roads in Lokoja, the state capital in a solidarity walk to expressed their appreciation to Governor Yahaya Bello for chosen a vibrant and experience young man Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo as his successor.

The solidarity walk coordinated by Hon. Yakubu Adabenege and Barrister Zakari Abbas kick started by 10a.m at zone 8 roundabout in Lokoja was attended by youth and women groups across the 21 local government areas who on their volition entered the rain to walk from the starting point to the popular paparanda square where the exercise terminated.

The event which snowballed into a rally was aimed at drumming up support for the candidacy of Hon. Ahmed Usman Ododo and to also thank His Excellency Governor Yahaya Bello for considering a youth for the position.

Speaking at the Paparanda square Hon. Adabenege stated that youth and women organizations in Kogi state have unanimously endorsed the candidacy of Usman Ahmed Ododo as the next governor and deputy governor of the state.

He said the group will continue to canvass for the realization of his governorship bid, noting that majority of Kogi people are solidly behind him.

He however appealed to the electorate to go out and collect their Permanent Voter’s Card, noting that whoever love Ododo should strive and vote for him on the day of election.

“I am appealing to those who are yet to collect their Permanent Votes Card (PVCs) to do because you can only show or prove your support when you cast your vote for APC and its candidate on November 11 governorship election in Kogi state.

“I am also using this occasion to urge all members and supporters of APC to move to their various wards to mobilize votes for the party” he stated.

In her remarks, a women leader from Kogi west Abisoye Modupe, said they were supporting the candidacy of Usman Ododo in appreciation of the good things Governor Yahaya Bello has done for women especially in the areas of appointments and empowernment which she noted has never happened in the history of the state.

She said women across the three senatorial districts are strongly supporting the APC candidate Usman Ododo so that he can continue the legacies of the governor where appointment into offices are not lopsided as we have witness in the previous administrations.

While expressing optimism that Ododo will be victorious in the forthcoming governorship election, she called on women in the state to support and mobilize support for APC.

“If you see the crowd you will know that APC is a winner because everywhere you go it is Ododo and I am optimistic that Victory will be ours” she said.

Also speaking at the occasion, a youth leader in Ward ‘A’ Lokoja, Hon. James Paul expressed his conviction on the possibility of Ododo becoming a good governor, assuring that Ododo will consolidate on the legacies laid down by Governor Yahaya Bello.

“I want to also tell you that Ododo, I know him very well, I know his pedigree, and our people in kogi State know that this man will be one of the best governors in Nigeria” he stated.
