Kogi Government Inaugurates N70, 000 Minimum Wage Implementation Committee

The Kogi State government has inaugurated an implementation committee for the new national minimum wage of N70,000 for state workers.

This announcement was made by Dr Folashade Ayoade, the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, during the inauguration of the implementation committee in Lokoja on Wednesday.

Dr Ayoade urged committee members to meet expectations and develop effective strategies for the rollout of the new minimum wage.

Mr Elijah Evineme, the chairman of the committee and Kogi State Head of Service, assured attendees that the committee would work diligently to fulfill its mandate and justify the confidence placed in them.

The committee comprises several key figures, including Asiwaju Idris Asiru, Commissioner of Finance; Alhaji Ozigi Deedat, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs; and Kingsley Fanwo, Commissioner for Information and Communication. Additional members include Hajia Habitat Onumoko, Kogi State Accountant General; Yakubu Okala, State Auditor General; Isiaka Yakubu, Local Government Auditor General; Comrade Onuh Edoka, Special Adviser on Labour Matters; and representatives from organised labour.
