The Kogi State Government has announced plans for the 2026 Civil Service Week, scheduled to commence on Friday, September 25, and end on Tuesday, September 29, with a series of activities lined up to celebrate civil servants across the state.
The Head of Service, Hajiya Falilat Yusuf Musa, disclosed this during a meeting with members of the Main Organising Committee for the celebration in her office in Lokoja.
She said adequate arrangements had been made to ensure a successful and memorable Civil Service Week, urging members of the organising committee to remain committed to their assigned responsibilities.
According to her, the programme will commence on Friday, September 25, with Jumu’ah prayers.
She said Saturday, September 26, had been set aside for a visit to an orphanage, while special Christian prayers for the Civil Service Week would hold on Sunday, September 27.
The Head of Service further disclosed that a road walk would take place on Monday, September 28, while the activities would culminate in an Award Night on Tuesday, September 29.
Hajiya Musa urged civil servants across the state to actively participate in the celebration, describing the annual event as an opportunity for workers to celebrate their contributions to the development of Kogi State.
“Let’s celebrate ourselves together as civil servants. The Civil Service Week is our own,” she said.
The Head of Service also commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his administration’s efforts to give civil servants in the state a sense of belonging.
She called on members of the organising committee to work collectively towards ensuring the success of the activities.
