Members of the Kogi Central Media Practitioners Association, (KOCEMPA), has Commended the state Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on the positive steps taken so far to reposition the State broadcasting cooperation, which housed the Kogi Radio, with headquarters in Lokoja
The Acting president of the Association, Alhaji Ibrahim-Isa Amoka, who gave the commendation when he led other members of the group on a courtesy call on the management of the cooperation on Wednesday, also lauded the state governor for the N72, 500 minimum wage for Kogi workers, saying this will greatly motivate them to put in their best.
Alhaji Amoka equally used the opportunity to thank the Governor for the appointment of some members of the Association into key positions in his administration, particularly the appointment of the first female Director General, (DG) of Radio Kogi, Hajia Nana Hawa Yusuff, the Special Adviser Media, Ismaila Isah, the General Manager, Kogi Graphic and the permanent secretary, ministry of Information, Mr Ebenezer Adrodija, assuring the Governor of the continued support of the Association.
He however called on the Kogi State Government to take further steps to uplift the standard of the structure to a befitting one, expressing the confidence that the servant leader will continue to deliver on his promises.
Alhaji Amoka adding that, the governor is already consolidating on the foundation laid by his predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and called on the people of Kogi State to continue to support the administration of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to carry the state to an enviable height.
In her response, the DG Radio Kogi, Hajia Nana Hawa Yusuff, thanked the governor for the support she been receiving which she said has greatly enhance the operation of the cooperation.
She highlighted the supports to include; the provision of two operational vehicles, connection of the headquarters of the cooperation to a dedicated line to ensure a 24hour transmission, provision of Solar power to enhance their operations, procurement of two modern transmitters, among other incentives.
The DG was particularly elated for the resocitation of the Radio Kogi Ochaja booster station to bring information about Government activities to the door steps of the people in the eastern flank of the state.
She promised that the management and the entire staff of the cooperation will not disappoint the governor and the people of Kogi State.
The DG also thanked the Kogi State Commissioner of Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, for paying special attention to Radio Kogi, which she said has encouraged them to put in their best.
Other members of the Association who accompanied the president includes; Alhaji Yekin Jimoh, Felix Udebu and Ibrahim Obansa who is also the Secretary of the Association.
