Kepa reveals what Tuchel’s sacking did to Aubameyang

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has revealed how Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang felt about the sacking of Thomas Tuchel.

According to the Spanish goalkeeper, the Gabon international was left in a state of ‘shock’ following the decision of the club’s owners to dismiss the German.

The former Arsenal captain arrived at Chelsea on a frantic deadline day, leaving Barcelona, a club he joined in February.

Aubameyang had been looking forward to rekindling his relationship with Thomas Tuchel, after both men enjoyed a splendid time together at Borussia Dortmund.

Aubameyang played his first game at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday against Salzburg, still sporting the protective mask he has been forced to wear after a terrifying robbery at his old family home in Barcelona left him with a broken jaw last month.

“He was a little in shock, a lot of change, the last two or three days were very crazy for him, everything that happened to him was a misfortune,” revealed Kepa when asked how Aubameyang had adapted to life at his new club.
