Kenechukwu Nwosu donates N1m to UNIZIK law faculty for construction of borehole

Appreciation, they say, is an application to do more. However, this time around it is purely an act of gratitude to Kenechukwu Nwosu Esq who has exemplified what legal philanthropy is in the enhancement of legal studies and practice in Nigeria.

Kenechukwu Nwosu Esq who is the Principal Partner at Onyi Akpamgbo and Co has remained a great source of assistance and inspiration to the students and staff of Faculty of Law, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka in many ways and on several occasions.

For many years, the students and staff of the Faculty of Law, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka have been going through difficulties as it relates to sourcing of water for the convenience of both student and staff.

Recently, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof Ogugua Ikpeze, disirous of bringing an end to this hardship, engaged the services of an engineering company to construct a borehole in the Faculty.

The Dean reached out to friends of the Faculty to help in the execution of the project including Kenechukwu Nwosu Esq. Kenechukwu Nwosu Esq, upon being informed of the project, immediately donated the sum of ₦1,000,000 (One Million Naira) to support the construction of the borehole for the Faculty.

It is gladdening to know that this financial support from Barrister Kenechukwu Nwosu and other friends of the Faculty facilitated by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Ogugua V. C. Ikpeze and other members of the staff including Anthony Chinedu Onah, have enabled the Faculty of Law Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka to construct the said borehole and the Faculty now has a functional borehole that ensures that water runs throughout the Faculty.

It would be recalled that in 2021, Mr Kenechukwu, in his characteristic nature of encouraging, rewarding and celebrating excellence among the law students, instituted and annually sponsors via his foundation ‘The Kenechukwu Nwosu Scholarship Award For Best Graduating Student’ in the Faculty of Law, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka that rewards the best graduating student with the sum of ₦400,000 (Four Hundred Thousand Naira) annually.

It is also pertinent to observe that in the following year, 2022 Mr Kenechukwu who has a burning desire to always support and promote the teaching, learning and practice of law also accepted another offer of sponsoring ‘The Kenechukwu Nwosu Award For The Best Chambers’ in the Law Students Association (LAWSA) Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka Annual Moot Court Competition with the sum of Three Hundred Thousand Naira annually.

Mr Kenechukwu has by this benevolent gesture, written down his name in the hearts of both the student and staff as well as visitors and friends of the Faculty of Law, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka.

The construction of the borehole will undoubtedly provide significant benefits to the Faculty by reducing overall costs and enhancing its capacity for teaching the students. It will also enhance the comfort and convenience of both the students and the staff of the Faculty and will be highly advantageous to the long-term growth and development of not just the Faculty, but also the entire Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

As a friend of the Faculty of Law, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, my prayer for Mr Kenechukwu is that God should continue to reward him with sound health and more resources which he has always put for the overall benefits of humanity.
