Kashamu’s son, others emerge Principal Officers of Ogun Assembly

The Ogun State House of Assembly has announced the appointment of Late Buruji Kashamu’s son, Rasheed Kashamu, and others as Principal Officers.

Rasheed Kashamu, who is the lawmaker representing Ijebu North I Constituency in the Ijebu North Local Government area of the State, was appointed the Minority Whip.

Recall that the Assembly, which was inaugurated on Tuesday elected Olakunle Oluomo as the Speaker while Mrs Bolanle Ajayi emerged the Deputy Speaker.

The Speaker, Oluomo, on Thursday, announced the new officers while presiding over the plenary session at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

According to Oluomo, the announcement followed internal arrangements amongst the lawmakers.

The Presiding Officers are the member representing Ado-Odo/Ota I State Constituency, Yusuf Sherif as Majority Leader, his Sagamu II Counterpart, Adeniran Ademola emerged as the Deputy Majority Leader, just as the member representing Ijebu-Ode State Constituency, Olanrewaju Bakare emerged as the Chief Whip, Babatunde Tella representing Abeokuta North, would be the Deputy Chief Whip.

Lukman Adeleye representing Odogbolu State Constituency is the Minority Leader while Lukmon Atobatele of Abeokuta South was named the Deputy Minority Leader.

Report that Dickson Awolaja of Remo North Constituency was announced the Minority Deputy Minority Whip.
