Kano Gov’t Donates N100m to Assist Victims of Jigawa Fire

Kano State Government has donated N100 million to assist victims of a devastating fire in Majia, Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf made the announcement on Thursday during a condolence visit to his Jigawa counterpart, Governor Umar Namadi Danmodi, at the Government House in Dutse.

“This donation is meant to provide relief to the families of those who lost their lives and to support the treatment of those injured in the fire,” said Governor Yusuf.

He also emphasized the historical and cultural ties between Kano and Jigawa States, expressing solidarity with their neighbours during this period of grief.

The Kano governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and offered prayers for the Almighty to prevent future tragedies of this nature.

In a grateful response, Governor Umar Namadi deeply appreciated Kano State’s generous support.

“These funds will be judiciously used to aid the victims and their families,” he assured.

Governor Namadi also disclosed that as of Thursday evening, 167 lives had been lost, with 67 individuals receiving treatment at various medical facilities both within and outside the state.
