The Kano State House of Assembly has extended the suspension of the chairmen of Rogo, Bagwai and Bebeji Local Government Areas by another three months.
The Assembly also extended the mandate of its ad hoc committee investigating allegations of violations of due process and administrative procedures against the three council chairmen.
The extension followed the expiration of the initial three-month suspension and investigation period earlier granted by the House.
In a statement, the Chief Press Secretary to the Assembly, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, said the extension was to enable the committee to conclude its investigation, examine the petitions against the chairmen and submit its report to the House.
