Kano Anti-Corruption Agency files New Charges Against Ganduje

The Kano State Anti-Corruption and Public Complaints Commission has filed new corruption charges against the immediate-past governor of the State, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.

Chairman of the commission, Muhuyi Magaji, disclosed this on Channels Television’s ‘Sunrise Daily’ breakfast show on Tuesday, accusing the Ganduje administration of siphoning public funds.

He revealed that investigations have exposed the misappropriation of N51.3billion from local government funds, diverted into private pockets not authorised to receive such funds.

According to Magaji, the Ganduje administration illegally withdrew N1billion monthly from the state’s coffers.

He also claimed that N4billion was transferred to an agricultural company from Kano’s consolidated revenue account for no any reason.

“We have a case of N4bn whereby it was sent from the consolidated revenue account of Kano State to an agricultural company. All these cases are before the court,” he said.

News report explains that Ganduje, the embattled national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and his wife, son, two aides and two private companies, are set to appear before a Kano State High Court on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, on charges bordering on allegations of bribery, diversion and misappropriation of public funds, including the acceptance of bribes worth N1.3bn in United State Dollars, brought forth by the Kano State government.
