Kaduna deputy governor visits Zangon Kataf, condemns killing

Following the recent killings in Zangon Kataf LGA, the deputy governor of Kaduna State, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe on Wednesday, led a delegation of government officials to condole with the people in the area.

Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, while condemning the killings, said they were in the community to convey the sympathy of Governor Nasir el-Rufai and the entire people of the state to the Agwatyp, HRH Dominic Gambo Yahaya and the bereaved families.

According to her, the state government had been working tirelessly with security agencies to unravel those behind the mysterious killing and wanton destruction of properties.

According to her, she had directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to carry out an immediate assessment and provide assistance to the affected citizens.

Responding, HRH Dominic Gambo Yayaha thanked the Deputy Governor and the Government of Kaduna State for the visit, just as he expressed sadness over the violent attacks which he described as shocking.

He further lamented that the attack is coming after a period of relative peace amidst many spirited efforts by well-meaning individuals to promote peaceful coexistence among all people living in the chiefdom.
