Following a raid by a group of bandits in Kidandan community in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, locals in their numbers have moved out of their ancestral homes.
The bandits reportedly spent hours shooting sporadically, killing some of the community members before abducting a number of them.
According to a source, the bandits became aggressive when the farmers failed to pay levies earlier imposed on them.
The Kidandan attack comes a few days after the bombing of locals by an Army Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) in Tudun Biri village of Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The source told DAILY POST: “For the past six days, bandits have been coming to Kidandan. These attacks were devastating. They came, terrified us, stole, and abducted our people. Every resident in Kidandan lives in extreme fear.”
He further explained that the women and children are leaving in droves, saying that a large number of those who embarked on the exodus are moving for safety.
The Kaduna State Police Command has yet to react to the incident.
