The people of Kabba over the weekend trooped out in there hundreds as Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Area Traditional Council, Oba (Dr) Solomon Dele Owoniyi buried his father, PA. Timothy Ajayi Owoniyi.

The late Pa Timothy Ajayi Owoniyi died in Ile-Ife, Osun State on December 2, 2021 at the age of 90 years.

Eminent personalities, traditional rulers, politicians and top government functionaries grace the occasion on Saturday.

The Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Honourable Idris Asiwaju who is the chairman of the planning committee in his speech thanked the people for gracing the occasion.

He noted that the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello will always give respect to traditional rulers in the state because of there roles the stablising the state by maintaining peace in their various domain.

He assured them that the state government will soon build a befitting palace for the Obaro of Kabba.

He called on every body to rally round the governor for more dividends of democracy.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Barrister Salami Ozigi who represented the Governor said government has been able to achieve all it has done because of the good relationship with the Royal institution in the state.

He mentioned that the state government will continue to work hand in hand with all the traditional rulers in the state.

According to him, the father of the monarch died at a good old age of 90 years haven’t been able to bring up a great son in the person of the Obaaro of Kabba land
