Jigawa guber: Lamido picks PDP Chairman as running mate 

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has picked the state party chairman, Babandi Ibrahim Gumel, as Mustapha Sule Lamido’s running mate in the 2023 governorship election.

This was contained in a statement signed by Mansur Ahmed, a new media aide to the Jigawa State Governor Dr. Sule Lamido, issued to Newsmen.

Reported that Mr. Mustapha a son of former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, has picked the party’s gubernatorial ticket.

Lamido scored 829 votes to defeat former Minister of Power, Hon. Saleh Shehu Hadejia, who scored 0 votes.

According to the statement, PDP stakeholders approved Hon. Babandi Ibrahim Gumel as Lamido’s running mate for his effort towards the development of the party.

He served as Jigawa PDP Vice Chairman, Commissioner of Information, Youths Support and Culture, and state House of Assembly member representing Gumel Constituency.
