Former Arsenal midfielder, Jack Wilshere has lauded young star, Ethan Nwaneri, describing him as ‘unplayable’.
Nwaneri made headlines this season when he made his first-team debut in Arsenal’s Premier League 3-0 win against Brentford in September to become the youngest player in the competition’s history.
The 15-year-old may not have appeared in a match-day squad for the senior team since then, but his development is being closely monitored by Arsenal fans who have high hopes for him.
Nwaneri scored a brace for the Arsenal U18s in their 3-3 draw against Manchester United in the U18 Premier League Cup last weekend.
However, Wilshere, who is now the U18s head coach, was happy with Nwaneri’s display after the match.
“In the first half, he tried to find the spaces, playing in people’s backs and creating space for himself, and we could not find him a little bit,” Wilshere said at his post-match press conference.
“In the second half, he was very good. He was unplayable at times. He had a few good moments. In the second half, a lot of players stepped up a level, we found some more space.”
