Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand has waxed lyrical about Samuel Chukwueze’s strike in AC Milan’s 2-1 victory against Newcastle United.
Chukwueze came off the bench to score the winning goal for the Rossoneri.
It was the Nigerian international’s second goal in the competition this season.
Newcastle United took the lead through Joellinton on the hour mark.
Stefano Pioli’s side, who were on the back foot for majority of the game, got their equaliser through Christian Public.
Chukwueze then netted the winning goal six minutes from time.
The winger curled the ball home superbly after receiving a pass from Noah Okafor.
“Great burst of pace through the middle there and this is all about timing your runs, patience. The weight of that ball tells the wideman what he needs to do,” Ferdinand said while on punditry duty for TNT Sports.
“The patience of the player on the ball here before it is released, and then the pace of the ball, rolls it slowly, tells him exactly what to do. It’s a great strike.”
