Aloy Ejimakor, a Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has said the group cannot be compared to Miyetti Allah.
Ejimakor explained that IPOB is registered worldwide, hence cannot be compared to Miyetti Allah.
He spoke against the backdrop of Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka’s comment on the Federal Government’s proscription of IPOB.
Soyinka had questioned the Federal Government’s handling of the farmers-herders crisis in Nigeria.
He wondered why the Federal Government was yet to ban Miyetti Allah while it already did IPOB due to its agitation.
Soyinka said Nigerians must always put the country’s history in perspective to understand security challenges.
Reacting, Ejimakor said IPOB was respected by nations of the world because of its non-violence.
Ejimakor tweeted: “Why proscribe IPOB and not Miyetti Allah?’ – Prof Soyinka.
“Thanks, Prof, but the two can’t compare because IPOB is registered worldwide, respected by nations and nonviolent. Miyetti Allah is not.”
