Insecurity: GPMI commends Nigerian Army

The Global Peace Movement International, UK, (GPMI) has commended the Nigerian army for its determination in the fight against terrorism, insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and other criminal activities in the country.

GPMI said that but for the sacrifices of officers and soldiers of the Nigerian army some of whom have paid the supreme price, Nigeria would have been ravaged by wars a no go area for anyone.

President General GPMI, Dr Mike Uyi while expressing appreciation to the NA for the feat achieved in recent times against security threats and other criminalities said the NA under the current leadership of Lt. Gen. Yahaya Faruk has shown commitment and determination to end security challenges bedevilling the country.

Uyi urged the Army not to rest on their oars until the country is free from the grips of criminal elements even as he assured the NA that Nigerians now understand the need to support the Army in it’s operations across the states of the federation.

He also applaud the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-General Farouk Yahaya, for his leadership, strategic direction, foresight, re-invigoration and enhanced internal working mechanisms of the Nigerian Army.

“The Chief of Army Staff has changed the narrative in improved conditions of work, office environment, welfare policies, and rehabilitation of the barracks across the country; the acquisition of military accoutrements and the rebranding of the image of the Nigerian Army”.
