I’m best friends with Kwankwaso but we disagree – Shekarau

Kano Central Senator, Ibrahim Shekarau, has described his relationship with the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso as cordial.

Shekarau said he and Kwankwaso are best of friends.

The former Kano State governor had fallen out with Kwankwaso during the build-up to the 2023 general elections.

Shekarau dumped the All Progressives Congress, APC, in May to join Kwankwaso’s NNPP but left the party in the same month.

However, Shekarau dismissed claims of a rift with Kwankwaso.

Featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday night, Shekarau, however, admitted that he usually disagrees with Kwankwaso on some issues.

According to Shekarau: “We are very good friends. When he is here talking, you think we normally disagree. We disagree on a number of political issues.

“But that does not mean we are fighting, (or) we are enemies. We are best of friends.”
