PSV Eindhoven forward, Cody Gakpo, has admitted he will likely stay at the club if they make it into the Champions League proper.
On Tuesday night, PSV beat Monaco to reach the Champions League play-off round, which is the last knockout stage before September’s group stages.
Manchester United are keen on signing Gakpo from the Dutch club.
But United can only offer Europa League football this season so victory for PSV over Rangers could be a damaging blow to Erik Ten Hag’s bid to find a new striker.
“We must first focus on and try to make it to the Champions League. Then it is more likely that I will stay,” Gakpo said after PSV’s win over Monaco.
“I don’t think I have said anywhere that I am leaving, so there is definitely a chance that I will stay.
“I’m open for a cup of coffee with the management – or coffee for them and water for me. We’ll see how it goes.”
