Arsenal legend David Seaman has pleaded with the club not to allow their star midfielder, Granit Xhaka to leave the club this summer.
Reports in England say that the club could sell the Switzerland international this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to bring in new faces at the Emirates.
He has been linked with a move to Bayer Leverkusen, who are said to be interested in signing him despite him being a key player for Arteta this season.
Seaman does not want to see Xhaka go, whether he plays in the first eleven or not, as Arsenal prepare to return to a Champions League campaign.
“I don’t want us to be letting players who’ve played most games this season go,” he explained on Seaman Says. “Even Xhaka, he’s had a great season, I don’t want to see experienced players like that leaving the club.
“We still need him for a few more seasons, even if he doesn’t start his strength in depth.
“I would be surprised if that happened.”
