I don’t know why they’re letting him go – Akinfenwa kicks against Sterling’s Chelsea move

Former English professional footballer, Adebayo Akinfenwa, has blamed Manchester City for selling Raheem Sterling to Chelsea.

Akinfenwa, a former Swansea City star and a diehard fan of Liverpool, said Pep Guardiola’s side should not have let the Englishman leave the Etihad.

Sterling is on the verge of joining Chelsea, who are understood to be paying £55million plus add-ons for his services.

Adebayo feels the winger should be returning to Liverpool, a club he left in 2015, and not Chelsea.

“City shouldn’t sell Sterling. I don’t know why they’re letting him go,” he told talkSPORT

“I’d take him back at Liverpool Football Club. Chelsea are getting a real good player.”
