How Tinubu will end insecurity, insurgency in north – APC chieftain, Felix

Nicolas Felix, a former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has explained how President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will end insecurity in Nigeria and insurgency in the north.

Speaking on Arise Television morning show on Tuesday, Felix said that Tinubu would employ more police officers and young people in the military and provide more equipment to curb the insecurity challenges in the country.

According to him, the President-elect would also reform the Nigeria Police Force and make bold decisions to make sure that the insurgency in the north would be put to an end.

Felix said, “The security situation in Nigeria, sometimes you ask yourself is it that our police officers and military men are not capable, which is actually the problem.

“Yes, there are things that need to be done. First of all, the Asiwaju Presidential campaign talked about employing more officers.

“I remembered the day he gave such a speech. People were wondering if you meant you were going to hire youths. You are going to hire young people in the military. That is exactly what we need.

“The manpower is very low, we don’t have more equipment, we don’t have more manpower.

“As of today, we have less than three 371 police officers in the whole of Nigeria, who are over 200 million people. That number is too small.

“The first thing I believe he is going to do is to hire massively and also have some police reform to be able to strategize, reform the way the police are doing their policing.

“The president is going to make some bold decisions, he is going to put his foot on the ground to make sure that the insurgency in the north will put an end to it.”
