Hon. Princess Leah Olusiyi Solomon’s Profile

Hon. Princess Leah O. Solomon was Born on 12 January 1960 in Zing Local Government Area of Taraba state Nigeria. She is a devoted Christian and was married with five children.

Leah attended kudaku-kufuru primary school in 1969-1975, Government Day Secondary School Maiha 1976-1981, Government Teachers’ college Mubi 1983-1984, College of Education Jalingo Taraba state 1988-1991, University of Jos for her Degree program 2006-2010, University of Jos for Masters Degree 2014-2015.

She is a Patriot, leading lights, patriarchal Politician and renown icon of 21st century.

An exceptionally committed and courageous nationalist, insightful and loyal Party woman; brilliant and resourceful entrepreneur who has being steadfast in selfless contributions towards the unity, stability and development of our great Party, state and Nation at large.

As a patriotic Nigerian, she establish a foundation to champion the course of national development, serves as a symbol of hope to the less privileges, women, children and Youths. She promoted greater access and stimulate good governance, enhances economic growth and development in all critical sectors and opened our states/country to international limelight as well as opportunities.

She is a detribalized Nigerian who put the interest and wellbeing of our nation above every other consideration and made numerous positive landmarks in our national political, economic and social landscapes.

Hon. (Mrs) Leah O. Solomon single handedly renovated the Taraba state PDP Zonal office, furnitures and handed over to the former state PDP party chairman, Hon. Victor Bala Kona. The project worth five million Naira (5000000) and was funded by Hon. Leah O. Solomon in order to uplift the image of the party.

Again, she initiates and constructed a hall, eatery, an office space at the front of Emir’s palace in Zing local government Area of the state. She bought chairs, provided all the necessary things needed and donated to her communities. Also, that project was of fifteen million Naira (15000000) all in her efforts to bring sustainable developments in the communities.

GREAT GENDER
GRASSROOTS FOUNDATION (G3F)÷ Is a non-governmental, non – religious and non-profit making organization. It was founded to advocate for good governance, good health care system and to address issues related to poverty, injustice, gender inequality, helping women and children both National and international.

The organization was founded on the 10th of January 2010 as a group of seven members led by Hon. (Mrs) Leah O. Solomon, legally incorporated in Nigeria on the 18th April, 2012. It has being massively supported by more than three hundred women and Youth regardless of their religious, cultural, political and socio-economic backgrounds.

The organization started in Zing, the present day Zing local government Area’s Headquarters of Taraba state and this is where it was originated. Meanwhile, the Zing local government office is being maintain accurately as a branch of the foundation up till now.

Her activities and programs centered towards empowering people and promote their socio-economic standards as well as improving the well-being of citizens.

The aim of this foundation is to establish free and healthy societies where women and Youths would be treated with greater dignity base on the stipulated rights to actively participate in every activities and programs that affects their interests in the communities.

The mission is to mobilize resources for empowering women and Youths through education and capacity building activities that will promote productivity, self-reliance, healthy life styles and economic well-being.

She impacted many lives including women and children most of whom are victims of societal injustice. Leah witnesses repeated cases of gross violation and denial of one’s fundamental human rights in an account of been nobody or less considered in the societies today.

She was overzealous to bring this foundation to reality as a result of undue molestation, harassment, tortured, perpetual hardship and other related societal vices devastating women, especially the widows, Youths and children.

Indeed, the formation of this organization leverage supports from it’s counterparts and citizens across boards from all works of Iife purposely to advocate for justice, healthy livings and true stewardship in all aspect of human endeavours.

The objective goal is to ensure the marginalized women, Youths and children in the communities are well considered and supported by relavant governmental and non-governmental agencies in order to accomplish their rights and other socio-economic needs.

To work towards addressing gender inequality, social vices, all forms of injustice related to socio-economic right of women, children and Youths in our communities.

Set to promote active participation of members in poverty reduction plans, such as skills acquisitions and micro credit finance for them to be self-employed of labour.

To enlighten women on how to prevent themselves from diseases like HIV/AIDS, Malaria, TB and so on.

To increase the percentage of active participation for women and Youths in government and politics by 30% in Nigeria.

To liaise with other organization so as to improve the living standard of women and Youths.

To engage in every lawful activities such that will lead to the pursuant or attainment of the above mentioned objective goal.

Women and Youths who are marginalized, vulnerable that are subject to violation and abuse of their human rights as well as people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.

Membership registration is done once, follows by annual dues which shall be communicated at the point of registration.

Whereas, this particular project partners with some agencies in the state such as TTV, SACA, MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, NCWS, TY DANJUMA FOUNDATION, NDE, WOTCLEF, MINISTRY OF WOMEN AFFAIRS AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, CIVIL SOCIETY ON HIV/AIDS in Nigeria and CISHAN.

APPOINTMENTS/WORKING EXPERIENCE

She was a School teacher in Zing Loca government Area of Taraba state between 1981, later became Assistant Head Mistress in 1991-1997, Head Mistress from 1998-2001. Chief Executive officer (G3F) Also teaches from July, 2007-2011.

Upon her retirement in 2010-2011, she was made the Commissioner for PM-TSUBEB 2011-2015 by His Excellency Late Pharmacy Danbaba Suntai, the former Executive Governor of Taraba. Also, after his re-election he appointed her Commissioner for PM-TSUBEB 2015-2019, it was at this point that she contested for Member state House Assembly, representing Zing Local Government Area. Again, she contested for Member House of Reps representing Jalingo-Yorro-Zing Federal Constituency 2023, currently contesting for that same position.

A People’s Democratic Party (PDP) aspirant for the House Of Representatives, Jalingo-Yorro-Zing Federal Constituency, Princess Hon. Leah Solomon (JP) has unveiled her political manifesto to the people of her constituency with a promise to bring socio-economic development to the constituency through participatory approach.

Leah, who reeled out her political manifesto in a media chat said, she will ensure the constituents are carried along in the prioritization, design, implementation and evaluation of projects in order to achieve a legacy of sustainable developments across the constituency and beyond.

She maintained that, structuring her activities within a distinct agenda would includes; economic developmental achievements which will be focus on generational sustainable opportunities for micro, small scale and medium enterprises. Also added that, there would be capacity buildings, supporting institutions to strengthen local and community based organizations personally as well as legislatively.
