European football expert, Andy Brassell has compared Liverpool sensation, Harvey Elliott to England legend, David Beckham.
Brassell noted that Eliott’s standout performances for struggling Liverpool are similar to Beckham’s impressive displays after joining Real Madrid.
Eliott has enjoyed an excellent start to the campaign, making eight appearances so far for the Reds.
Liverpool’s midfield has come under intense criticisms this season but the young Elliott has still looked good.
And Brassell said that there’s a reason why the teenage midfielder is looking so impressive this term.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Brassell said: “The fact that Harvey Elliott stands out now, of course it’s a lot to do with his excellent form, but it’s also because he reminds me of David Beckham playing in the midfield of the melted Galacticos in 2003/04.
“He’s just so much faster than everyone else.
“Beckham was like a flying ant in a forest of sloths really.
“Not knocking the quality of the players around him, but no one did anywhere near as much running as him in that season.”
