Italy international Marco Verratti has hailed England midfielder Declan Rice, saying the West Ham star ‘will end up at a top side.’
Verratti spoke ahead of England’s Euro 2024 qualifier with Italy to be played later today, Thursday.
Rice has emerged one of the best midfielders in the Premier League after making his breakthrough at West Ham.
Reports in England say that the 24-year-old is keen on leaving West Ham for a better club next summer.
One of the clubs interested in signing the England international is Arsenal who have made Rice one of their top targets.
During a post match press briefing ahead of the game, Verratti was asked for his thoughts on Rice, he said: “I really like him as a player.
“He provides great balance and shape to the team, and he’s got wonderful physical attributes.
“I’m sure that he will end up at a top side, because I’ve played against him many times, he never gives up.”
