He didn’t respect James, he’ll do it again – Rio Ferdinand hails Real Madrid star

Manchester United icon Rio Ferdinand has noted that Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior showed no form of respect to Chelsea defender Reece James during their Champions League quarter-final clash at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.

Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio gave the home side a 2-0 win and put them in the pilot seat ahead of the second leg next Tuesday.

Vinicius put in a brilliant performance and ran James ragged on the left flank.

And the former England international said he was impressed by the Brazilian forward’s display and touched on the problems he gave James throughout the game.

Ferdinand told BT Sport, “Vinicius Junior showed no respect to Reece James tonight. Whenever Vini had the ball, he went straight at James.

“He will do the same at Stamford Bridge. He and Rodrygo play wide and high.”
