Gunmen abduct Lagos govt official in Ikorodu

A yet-to-be identified official of Lagos State government has been reportedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

It was gathered that the incident occurred on Monday at the residence of the victim, popularly known as Jagaban at the Progressive Estate in Igbe-Oloja, Ikorodu.

The victim, according to reports, is a senior staff of the Revenue Department at Government House, Alausa.

The kidnappers were said to have established contact with the wife of the victim, demanding N20 million for his release.

A team of policemen and other security agencies were said to be hovering in and around the area searching for clues that could lead to his rescue.

The Lagos State police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the ugly development to Vanguard, but failed to provide details of the incident.

“All I can tell you is that we received such a report but I cannot tell who he is. All I know is that our men are there and doing everything possible to rescue the man and apprehend the hoodlums that kidnapped him”, he said.
