Grandma who set ablaze son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren dies

The 73-year-old grandmother who set her son, Victor, daughter-in-law, Rachael and her two grandchildren ablaze in Ondo State is dead.

The septuagenarian, Iforiti, gave up the ghost two weeks after the incident that occurred in the Aponmu community of Akure South Local Government Area of the state.

According to sources, the grandmother labelled a witch in the community, was also affected by the fire.

Five days after the incident, she was said to have been taken to the hospital for treatment after she was locked up in one of the rooms by her children.

Iforiti died at the hospital during treatment as she was said to have confessed to planning to kill only her daughter-in-law for starving her.

According to her, she never knew that her son and grandchildren would be affected.

Recall that Iforiti had allegedly set the house ablaze while the family was fast asleep.

Some neighbours broke into the house through the window to rescue the family of four, after which they were taken to Federal Medical Center, Owo.

Upon arrival at the medical facility, the son and his wife died while the children were still receiving treatment.
