GPMI condemns Plateau killings, calls for proactive measures

The President General, Global Peace Movement International, UK Dr Mike Uyi on Sunday condemned the fresh attacks in communities in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau State on the eve of Christmas.

Reacting to the development, Uyi in a statement described the attacks as barbaric and heinous.

He noted with concern the trend of attacks by gunmen, bandits and other criminals, who kill innocent Nigerians for fun.

According to him, Nigeria has recorded too many losses of lives and property under attacks, and this trend must stop forthwith.

Uyi while commiserating with the people and the Government of Plateau State, prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed and comfort for their families.

“We expressed sadness over what is happening especially in Platuea state that some unscrupulous elements want to set the state back on fire again despite the progress made so far by all the security agents in restoring peace on the Plateau”.

“We implore the government and relevant authorities to take decisive action to ensure the safety and security of all citizens in Plateau State and across the nation.

“Perpetrators of these acts must be swiftly brought to justice, and measures should be taken to prevent future occurrences of such tragic events”, Mike emphasized.
