GPMI commends Umahi on Ebonyi Airport

*announce International Peace Award for Allen Onyema

Global Peace Movement International, UK has commended the foresight of Governor Dave Umahi in building an international airport, Onueke in Ebonyi believing it will boost the tourism industry in the state and create wealth and employment.

President General of the group, Dr. Mike Uyi in a statement on Sunday in London, noted that it was clear from the electioneering campaign of Governor Dave Umahi that he has a clear-cut vision for the development and promotion of tourism in Ebonyi State has come to fulfilment.

Uyi said the project, no doubt, will propel socio-economic progress in the state as it will create massive direct and indirect employments and create wealth for the people of the state. It will also make business transactions easier in the state.

“This great achievement will embolden the name of the state in the world tourism map and make the state stand tall among the comity of tourism nations in the world”.

Uyi who described Governor Umahi as a divine blessing to the people of the state and Nigeria at large, said the airport will make the state assume its rightful place as a major commercial and industrial hub in the West African sub-region.

Uyi further said it was very proud of Governor Umahi for the milestone as he has reduced the burden on people, endeared himself to the people, written his name in gold and lifted the image of Ebonyi state and Ndigbo at large.

In the same development, Dr Mike Uyi also commended the Chairman/CEO of Air Peace for being the first airline to commence operation.

Uyi also announced that the GPMI has nominated Chief Allen Onyema for an International Peace Award for his philanthropic activities in Nigeria and outside Nigeria.
