Governor Otu presents N498b budget proposal to Cross River Assembly

The Governor of Cross River State, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu, has presented the state’s 2025 budget proposal to the State House of Assembly with a total figure of N498 billion.

In a post on the Facebook page of the governor, he said the budget tagged “Budget of Sustainable Development’, was designed to promote inclusive growth and ensure improvement in the well-being of Cross Riverians.

Otu said: “Today, I had the privilege of presenting the 2025 Budget proposal to the State House of Assembly. This budget, called the Budget of Sustainable Development, truly embodies our commitment to putting people first. It aims to foster inclusive growth and improve the well-being of every citizen.

“This Appropriation Bill is the result of meaningful conversations with stakeholders from all three Senatorial Districts, ensuring that we capture the hopes and needs of our community.

“Here are some key highlights: Total Budget – N498 billion; Capital Expenditure: N328 billion (66%) and Recurrent Expenditure – N170 billion (34%)

“We’re prioritizing essential areas like infrastructure, education, health, and agriculture, all designed to enhance the quality of life for the people of Cross River State.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to sustainable development in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Together, we can build a brighter future for everyone.
