Kogi State Head of Service, Elijah Evenemi, has assured the people that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, would welcome different shades of quality advise and opinions for the smooth running of his administration geared towards delivery of the dividends of democracy.

The number one Civil Servant in the state made the statement on Wednesday February, in his office at the State Secretariat, Lokoja when the National President of Ihima Welfare Association (IWA), Mall. Abubakar Bello and some members of Ihima Community paid him a courtesy call.

Thanking the Community for the overwhelming support they gave to his boss, Governor Ododo, for his landslide victory during the November 11 Governorship election, Evenemi charged the entire people of Ihima never to relent in their unflinching support for the Governor.

“I thank you (Ihima people) for this visit. I will convey your message of gratitude to my Governor. Please, do not relent in your support and prayers for him.

“Ododo is a good listener and a man of action. We don’t claim to know it all. The terrain may be new but it is not difficult for him to walk through. He is up to the task.

“He will not play with the issue of civil servants. Governor Ododo is ready to invigorate and help the Kogi State Civil Service to function properly to the envy of other Civil Service in the Country.” He assured.

Speaking earlier among other things, the President of Ihima Welfare Association (IWA), Abubakar Bello advised Government to take the prompt and appropriate payment of the Civil Servants in the state as a matter of priority.

For the Community leader, such gesture will make the Government of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo a highly popular one because no Civil Servant had less than ten dependants.

“For me, Government which locates the welfare and well-being of civil servants at the centre of his governance has solved the problem of the citizenry to a large extent and it will be very popular with the people. May the Almighty God be with our Governor and guide him aright.” He prayed.
