Governor Ododo Confirms Arrest of Some Suspected mastermind of killings In Kogi Community

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo on Wednesday announced that some persons suspected to be involved in the April 4 violent attack on Agojeju – Odo community in Omala LGA of the state have been arrested by security agents.

All the victims of the attack, including two women and four children were buried on Saturday, April 6.

However, Ododo, told journalists on the sideline of the Eid -el-fitr prayer in Okene that some suspects have been identified and arrested in connection with the attack.

The governor also said the suspected sponsors of the violence are also being picked up one by one, adding that further investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

“As I speak to you today, the suspected sponsors have been arrested, investigations are ongoing.

“They are giving us useful information that will lead to the arrest of other suspects.

“As soon as we are done with that investigation, the report will be made known to the public,” Ododo said.

Recall than the 25 persons, including women and children were killed during the attack while many houses and other personal property of the residents were also set ablaze by the armed attackers.

Agojeju Odo community where the incident took place is in Omala Local Government area of Kogi East Senatorial district.

On persistent scathing criticisms of his person and style of administration by some elements, Ododo said he was unperturbed , saying that he would not dignifying them by responding to uninformed comment.

He said : “Reacting to noise makers, and those that does not have stake as far as governance is concern is not part of the mandate given to me by the good people of Kogi State and Mr President.

Also on the crisis in Bagana community also in Omala Local Government, Ododdo said the “crisis in Bagana in Omala Local Government did not start today.

“It has been in existence for over 45 years ago, precisely 1978.

“We are doing our best to make sure peace is restored in the area.”
