Zamfara State Governor-elect, Dauda Lawal Dare has inaugurated his 60-man transition committee which is headed by a former Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar.
Inaugurating the committee, the Governor-elect said that the members of the committee were carefully selected considering their track records, saying that he has confidence in the committee as it will carefully study the real problems of the State for reposition.
According to him, Zamfara State people voted for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to rescue and reposition the State and attract respect for it across the world, pointing out that the image of the State had been destroyed.
Dare further advised the committee to carry out its constitutional responsibility without fear or favour, saying that the reports of the committee will be properly implemented if it can salvage the State.
In his acceptance speech, the chairman of the committee, former IGP, Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar assured the Governor-elect that the committee would not leave any stone unturned, stressing that what Zamfara State needs now is total redemption.
“We will do our best to ensure that we come out with a credible and acceptable report to help the State move forward”, he added.
