Governance should transcend political differences — Gov. Fubara

Rivers State Governor Siminialayi Fubara said governance should transcend political differences.

Speaking during the inauguration of the 11.8km Okehi-Umuola-Eberi Link Road on Wednesday, which connects Etche and Omuma local government areas, Governor Fubara emphasised that he is the governor for all residents of Rivers State, not just for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

He recalled how a road connecting Rivers State to Imo State through Etche was abandoned by a previous administration because it led to the residence of an opposition politician.

“When we came on board, there was a part of the road connecting Imo State. The road was a few metres to an opposition politician’s house; the project ended, in fact, in front of the man’s gate.

“For so many years, they suffered. Politics is not about being wicked, being vindictive; no, no, no, it’s a service.”

He added: “I’m not the governor of the PDP; I am the governor of Rivers State. So I owe everyone the responsibility of caring, providing and protecting.”
