Gov Oyebanji meets traditional rulers, solicits support for primary health centres

The Ekiti State Governor, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, has assured the citizens of the state of quality health care service delivery.

Governor Oyebanji gave the assurance at a stakeholders’ meeting with traditional rulers of the state. The governor noted that the meeting was to discuss improving healthcare service delivery, especially at the Primary Health Centres across the state and Ijero Local Government Area in particular.

While describing the monarchs as important stakeholders in the development of the state, the governor charged them to take ownership of all public health facilities and other government properties in their domains to ensure adequate security and safety of lives and property.

In a similar development, the Governor paid an unscheduled working visit to the State Specialist Hospital and a Primary Health Centre both at Ijero Ekiti. He noted that the visit afforded him the opportunity to have an on-the-spot assessment of both health facilities.

He assured his administration’s commitment to the welfare of staff and the people of the state. The governor disclosed that his administration is working relentlessly at ensuring that all public health facilities across the state are up to standard, accessible and affordable to everyone.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr Oyebanji Filani, noted the Oyebanji-led administration had shown great commitment to the wellness and wellbeing of Ekiti residents.

Dr Filani hinted that just recently the Governor approved payment of hazard allowance to all categories of health workers in the state, giving a facelift to most of the health facilities as well as disbursed Medical Financial Assistance to citizens who couldn’t afford to pay their medical bills amongst other achievements.

While responding on behalf of the royal fathers, the Ajero of Ijero Ekiti, HRM Oba Adebayo Adewole, appreciated the governor for counting them worthy of the meeting and prioritizing the welfare of the people.

The king assured the governor of robust support and a great working relationship with all Obas in the local government. They prayed for a peaceful and successful tenure for the governor.
