Gov Otu’s wife preaches gospel to street children in Calabar

The wife of Cross River State Governor, Rev Eyoanwan Otu has undertaken to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to Calabar street children, urging them to have hope.

She took a visit to the different joints and dens where the street children put up to identify their specific needs with the aim of developing a comprehensive plan to address them.

Dr Comfort Oko represented Otu’s wife at the event and her Special Assistant on religious affairs, Evang. Odo Bassey led in prayers for the children.

She took time to engage the children in conversations, saying there is a need for a collective effort to provide a holistic support system to address the immediate needs of street children.

She disclosed that there are plans to enrol some of the children in schools while those willing to learn skills or trade would be supported to do so.

She encouraged the children to be of good behaviour while emphasizing the importance of nurturing the potential of every child and creating an inclusive society.
