Gov Namadi appoints ex-NAWOJ vice-chair as media aide, 115 others

Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has approved the appointment of former NAWOJ vice chairman, Zainab Shuaibu Rabo Ringim, as his Senior Special Assistant on Media Affairs, along with 115 other assistants.

This was made known in a statement issued to newsmen and signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mallam Bala Ibrahim.

Zainab, a veteran journalist and former Radio Jigawa staff, a correspondent for Radio Germany (Deutsche Welle), and a former zonal vice chairman of the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), is the first woman to be appointed as a media aide to the Jigawa State governor since the state was created in 1991.

According to the statement, the appointments were based on merit, competence and personal integrity.

The SSG congratulated the new appointees and urged them to be honest and just in discharging their responsibilities.

He also encouraged them to work diligently towards the realisation of Governor Umar Namadi’s 12-point agenda.

All the appointments take immediate effect, according to the statement.
