Gov. Buni warns civil servants against laxity, absenteeism 

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has warned public servants in the State against laxity, absenteeism and nonchalant attitude to work.

He said the government would not tolerate such acts.

Buni gave the warning at an interactive session held on Tuesday between the State Working Committee and the leaderships of the Nigeria Labor Congress, (NLC), as well as that of Trade Union Congress, (TUC) in the State.

Represented by his Deputy, Idi Barde Gubana, the Governor said the interaction, which was the first of its kind, was aimed at strengthening industrial harmony between the two parties for efficiency in governance.

He tasked members of the unions to take their work seriously by being punctual, committed and dedicated to their duties at all times, assuring that his administration would continue to deliver more dividends of democracy to people in the State.

The State Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC), Comrade Muktar Tarbutu commended the State government for providing an enabling environment for the civil servants to operate effectively, as well as prompt payment of salaries allowances, pension and gratuities to retirees in the State.
