Gov Badaru: I would not leave any debt liabilities to my successor

Jigawa State Governor, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has stated that he will not leave any liability to the incoming Governor of the State.

Governor Badaru stated this on Sunday at the flag-off of the All Progressives Congress, APC, campaign in Hadejia.

He said his major challenge after assuming the leadership of the State was debt liabilities.

“When we came in, we inherited over N115 billion debt liabilities of the ongoing projects.

“As I am talking to you now, we have so far cleared all the debt liabilities and have done remarkably well in the development of the State.

“I am sure when Danmodi comes in, he will find it easier to do better than what we have done during our tenure,” he said.

Governor Badaru added that, “I almost ran away because of the economic crisis at that time.

“We had to cut government spending by almost 50% for us to be able to manage the available resources.”
