Gov Abiodun sends 8 commissioner-nominees to Ogun Assembly

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State sent just eight names to the Ogun State House of Assembly as his commissioner-nominees.

The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo, disclosed this during plenary on Tuesday.

Oluomo read a letter reportedly sent to the assembly by the governor on July 27.

The Speaker listed the names as Tomi Coker, Dapo Okubadejo, Abayomi Arigbabu, Adebowale Adesanya, Ganiu Hamzat, Jamiu Omoniyi, Oluwashina Ogungbade, and Olaolu Olabimtan.

According to reports, the nominees were commissioners in his first term, whom he appointed after his second term’s inauguration as Special Advisers.

The Speaker asked the nominees to appear before the House at 12 pm on Wednesday.

He told them to submit 10 copies of their credentials to the clerk of the assembly.

The governor’s letter, however, did not state whether or not there would be another batch of nominees, as Ogun State has more than 20 ministries in all.
