Former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has reacted to Nollywood Actress Tonto Dikeh’s emergence as the Deputy Governorship candidate in Rivers State under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Earlier reported that the ADC governorship candidate, Tonte Ibraye, confirmed Tonto Dikeh as his running mate in a statement posted on Instagram on Friday.
Part of the statement had read: “After series of consultations with leaders of our party the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State and the national level, I’m glad to announce Amb. Tonto Dikeh ‘Tonto let ’ as my running mate for the 2023 gubernatorial election in Rivers State.”
Reacting, Shehu Sani, in a tweet on his Twitter handle, described the news as a good one.
He, however, challenged other female Nollywood and Kannywood stars to follow in the footsteps of Tonto Dikeh.
Sani tweeted: “Tonto Dikeh’s emergence as the Deputy Governorship candidate in Rivers State is good for Democracy.
“This is a great challenge to other Female Nollywood and Kannywood stars; to step out of the screen to the ring. I’m not unaware that others have tried in the past.”
